Sun damage, aging and our overall lifestyle can negatively affect the appearance of our skin, especially on the face. Unfortunately, lines, wrinkles, dark spots and more can impact how we feel when we look in the mirror. Photofacial treatments can restore the vibrancy time has stolen from your skin. Balance Hormone Center is proud to offer minimally invasive and effective photofacial treatments for men and women.
What Is a Photofacial?
A photofacial is also known as laser skin rejuvenation. Using an intense pulsed light (IPL) laser, we deliver energy into the epidermis layer of skin to target cells just below the surface. These cells, responsible for pigment production, are destroyed, resulting in:
- Diminished age spots
- Improved skin texture
- Reduced fine lines, wrinkles and creases
- Improved dark circles
IPL treatment can also be used to treat rosacea or severe redness and flushing.
What to Expect Before, During & After Your Treatment
Before your treatment, we'll discuss your skin goals and create a plan that fits your specific needs. Sometimes, patients require more than one treatment to reach their goals. We'll also discuss the procedure as well as what you can expect.
During your treatment, a physician will gently pass a laser across your skin. The treatments are typically quick, only lasting around 30 minutes to an hour, depending on the treatment area. Although you may experience some discomfort, photofacials shouldn't be painful. Many patients state the feeling is similar to a rubber band gently popping across the face.
There's no downtime involved with a photofacial. You can expect some redness and mild swelling immediately post-treatment. Yet, you can return to normal activity as soon as your treatment is complete. After your treatment, we'll provide you with any necessary follow-up appointments as well as aftercare instructions for the best results.
Boost Your Skin Rejuvenation With Facial Fillers
In addition to photofacials, we offer facial fillers to treat tough wrinkles around the lips, chin, nasolabial folds and more. When used in conjunction with photofacials, we can help restore your youthful appearance quickly. Our facial fillers are FDA-approved and safe. Plus, each treatment, whether a filler or a photofacial, is performed in-office by a skilled technician.
