Not so long ago, if you wanted to improve the look of your nose – make it smaller, smoother or straighter – you had only one choice: rhinoplasty. But today, as injectable fillers have risen in popularity, medical professionals have been able to use them to perform non-surgical “nose jobs” quickly and with far less trauma. While some skeptics believe these injectable “lunchtime nose jobs” are just Instagram fables, we’re pleased to report that they’re real, and they work.
WHO CAN AND CAN’T TAKE ADVANTAGE OF NON-SURGICAL NOSE FILLERS?
Balance Hormone Center evaluates each patient individually to determine whether injectable nose treatments would be effective. Generally, this non-surgical solution can be applied to correct:
- Bumps on the bridge of the nose
- Droop at the tip of the nose
- Mildly crooked noses
Some conditions are generally not treatable with fillers. If a person’s nose is too large, there comes a point where fillers won’t make it look smaller. Very large bumps on the bridge of the nose usually can’t be addressed this way, either. Finally, fillers rarely work to thin out a nose that you believe is too thick, and usually cannot be used to alter the appearance of a nose that’s been broken.
WHAT FILLERS DO WE USE?
Our Arizona medical team uses a variety of aesthetic medicines to help clients achieve the look they want. The choice of filler depends on what the goal of the treatment is, the area of the face being treated, and the patient’s medical history.
For nose contouring and shaping, we typically recommend one of two FDA-approved, injectable fillers:
- BELOTERO BALANCE®: a hyaluronic acid filler made by Merz that was initially developed to smooth facial lines and wrinkles, and is also very effective as a filler and shaper for the nose.
- Restylane®: a hyaluronic acid filler from Galderma that has proven helpful in lip treatments, smoothing wrinkles, and shaping noses. Also available as Restylane Lyft, which contains Lidocaine for a more comfortable procedure.
As with any treatment, there are possible side effects to be aware of, including possible allergic reactions, swelling, headaches and others.
