Melissa is an advanced practice clinician trained at the University of Michigan with more than 25 years practicing in the field of sexual medicine. She became board certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner in 2012 and has extensive training in endocrinology and hormone health. Melissa has advanced training through the Institute of Functional Medicine, The American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine (A4M), The Institute of Women’s Health and Integrative Medicine, and The International Society for the Study of Women’s Sexual Health (ISSWSH). She will complete the Sexual Health Certification program through the University of Michigan in 2023 and plans to obtain her certification as a Sexuality Counselor through the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors and Therapists (AASECT).
Melissa has an extensive list of publications and presentations on a wide variety of topics, her current focus is on the integration of holistic health into the clinic setting through nutrition, regenerative and functional medicine, breath work, and movement. Her commitment is to create spaces of healing in the clinic setting and she believes that with an integrative, intentional, and individualized plan of care patients can reclaim their innate ability to heal.
When she is not at work Melissa can be found walking her two dogs around the neighborhood with her husband or transporting her daughter and son to swim events across the valley. She practices yoga and strength training daily and always has a book on her nightstand.
